  1. Similar to what Google Reader does. Good concept but better know when to use.

  2. This is a great use of ajax. I saw this a while back where Humanized was also referenced.

  3. Lovely!

This way of scrolling is great .. I’ve used it on a few apps I built a while back, that Unspace link was where I got the inspiration.

Although it’s always a good idea to have some kind of sitemap / page numbers so search engines and sans javascript readers can consume the content easily :)

  4. Hehe, streaming results, very cool. You can get this kind of functionality on Google searches using the FireFox Customize Google extension. I like it for the web search, but find it kind of annoying for the image search.

  5. Hi Guys, thanks for the comments. I quite like the way the Apple Store works as well, only loading the images further down the page when you scroll there to eliminate excess page load. I love this technique and can’t wait to use it.

  6. Im toying with updating my script so as you scroll down the page, it hides results that have gone out of view at the top of the page.

One problem with this technique currently is if you return a large result set, your scroll bar can shrink to the size of a pea, which makes scrolling rather fidgety.

Although getting the hiding to happen on a decent ratio is where the work needs to go, so it doesn’t jump around when you hide the elements above.

If I do get around to it, I’ll make sure I share the love ;)
